Our charming secluded Streamside Home sits on a cresting hill and overlooks an open field with rushing stream and cascading falls. The stream and waterfalls can be seen and heard from every room in the house. The emphasis of this location is definitely on outdoor living. At the front of the home, a large sunny deck encompasses the view of the property. The Home is very secluded, ½ mile off paved road, and bordered on 2 sides by an 8,000 acre private preserve- great to explore.
Indoors you will remain closely connected to nature. The dining room is surrounded by windows that allow a view of the outdoor fireplace and surrounding woods. The interior warmth of European tile with cross banded wood inlay and planked cedar walls softened with a white washed paint to create the perfect place for lingering meals and good conversation.
Out back there is a stone patio that offers built in gas grill plus a natural stone outdoor fireplace where you can stay warm under a beautiful starlit mountain sky.
Adjacent to the dining room is a galley style kitchen equipped with the latest in appliances and conveniences. Cooking is a pleasure with the earth tone tumbled marble back splash and extra deep farmhouse sink.
There is a game table for an evening of family time playing board games or cards. All activities can be enjoyed with the glow of a fire that gently reflects in the warm hand polished patina of antique furniture, artwork and other appointments that please the eye.
For indoor family gatherings, the family room is spacious with the utmost in comfortable furnishings. Attention to every detail is carefully thought out to provide the perfect spot for relaxing, reading or catching a favorite television show on the large plasma screen.
The downstairs bedroom is furnished with a mahogany queen four-poster bed with new Tempur-Pedicmattress. Quiet and solitude are part of this room’s charm. The downstairs bath has an extra deep soaking tub to soothe sore muscles after a long hike. And for those chilly mornings there are heated tile floors. The copper bowl sink mounted on granite topped corner cabinet serve to create a unique bath.
Upstairs, there is another full bath with tub and shower, heated tile floors and tile topped vanity. The front bedroom has French doors that open out onto a private balcony overlooking the stream. You can fall asleep listening to the water and feel a gentle mountain breeze thru the dormered window and French doors.
The third bedroom has twin beds and an antique cedar wardrobe to store clothes. There is a window seat that provides a special spot to curl up with a good book or just daydream while overlooking the waterfall and stream.
And, of course there's the stream with the waterfall that
gently patters across the rocks.
The soothing feeling you get will stay with you long after you
leave us.

We stayed at the Streamside Home in August for a few days. We had such a wonderful time and cannot wait to go back next summer. The home was beautifully decorated and maintained. Our children, ages 3 and 6, enjoyed running around ther property and playing in the stream. We explored during the day, the kids enjoyed Chimney Rock and Slippery Rock. During the evenings, wegrilled dinner on the beautiful patio. We loved the outdoor fireplace for ambiance. The kids enjoyed the marshmellow pit by the stream for after dinner s'mores. We wish woud could have stayed a longer, we were all sad to leave.

This home combines the comfort of lovely appointed furnishings with the natural beauty of the surrounding, nestled on a hill just minutes away from the quaint town of Brevard, NC and acres of national forest for hiking or fishing. There is nothing too rustic about this wonderful home overlooking a meadow and stream, whose sounds can be enjoyed from every part of the house. We spent several nights enjoying the rocking chairs as we listened to the sounds of the surrounding woodlands. It is nicely private, yet convenient anytime you want an activity. It was the ideal get away from the heat of summer in August.

Jim - Our family only had time for a short getaway and this was perfect. Your home is quite beatiful and so convenient. Everything you need is already there from the split wood to the cooking utensils. The surroundings and home environment were so relaxing and enjoyable. There were lots of places to fish, hike, and just relax outside. The weather was perfect! With Brevard just a short drive away we felt secluded but not excluded. The minute we got home, everyone was ready to go back. I have stayed in a few vacationhomes before, and it was so nice to be in a place where everything was so well cared for and clean. It truly was a home away from home. We'll definately be back.

My sisters and I have booked the Home for a fourth annual vacation next year. I know the Home and grounds will exceed your expectations. The Home is amazing - giving you the beauty of the woods and nature, with all the ammenities of a modern home, We love the updated kitchen, heated bathroom floors, upstairs balcony, fireplace with firewood provided, outdoor gas grill, outdoor stone fireplace, reading at the Summer House, having a picnic by the stream and the porch view of the peaceful meadow. The area is welcoming - offering friendly people, wonderful restaurants, fun shopping, varied activites and the quaint town of Brevard with it's white squirrels and great shops. Gorgeous views are every- where with mountains, overlooks, woods, waterfalls, streams, wildlife, etc. The owner is available, helpful, friendly and has given us great suggestions every year for restaurants, activities, sights etc. This vacation renews my spirit and I anticipate and look forward to my next visit each year...

I have been to the the Streamside Home annually for last three years. Two Michigan and one Louisiana sister have vacationed together at this wonderfully located rental home. In fact, we have already rebooked for 2011. The Streamside Home has never disappointed us. The listing description and photos are very accurate, always very clean and well maintained and the owner is very helpful in every way. From recommending restaurants; an excellent waterfall tour guide and general sightseeing suggestions. Whether you are relaxing on the front porch and enjoying a panoramic view of the meadow; sitting on the big rocks watching the stream tumble past; cooking a fabulous meal on the grill in the patio dining area; breathing the clean and pure mountain air --you will find yourself refreshed and restored by the time your vacation is over. That is why we have booked our 4th annual 'Sister Trip". There is no way that you could be disappointed vacationing here. The mountains are beautiful and it is always wonderfully cooler at the home.

We had a wonderful time at the streamside home. The location is perfect for a get-a-way. This house has everything. The little touches make for a relaxing cozy experience. The house was extremely clean, complete with all the comforts of home. Everything about the home is beautiful. The outdoor fireplace with cooking station and table were my favorite. Also, the firepit by the stream is a nice touch. I recommend this house for vacation to couples or those with children. Fun for the whole family.

We very much enjoyed this home. The house is cozy and comfortable yet very nicely decorated. I was impressed by the kitchen though not a large one. Grounds were attractively maintained. I loved hearing the small waterfalls at night and my children loved playing in them. It is not far from Brevard but far enough to be in the countryside. A pleasant place for adults or families to get away in the moutains!

This is our 3rd year at the Streamside House at Trout House Falls, and we absolutely love it! This is your opportunity to get away from it all (no cell phone reception) and commune with nature. My children (Ages 9 and 5) love playing in the stream and catching crayfish and minnows. The kitchen is well stocked with good quality cooking equipment, and we love eating outside by the fire and roasting marshmellows for dessert. The pictures are a good reflection of the lovely decor. The owners are incredibly helpful and will give you many suggestions of activities and restaurants in the area. We enjoy hiking to the many beautiful waterfalls around Brevard, tubing down the Davidson river, and canoeing on the French Broad river. The location is remote; it is a 20-25 minute drive on very windy mountain roads to get into Brevard. As a result, you don't want to forget anything at the grocery store. Brevard is a charming small town, with a very good Ingles grocery store, drug stores and everything else you could need. There are several good restaurants and a fabulous toy store in town. We think that this is the perfect place to get away from it all and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Hi- A group of friends and I traveled from Chicago to visit the area for its mountain biking. After much searching we found this and the pictures looked great. When we arrived we found an even better place than the pictures showed. The amenities are top notch, heated tile in bathrooms, tons of pots and pans in the kitchen for cooking, the porch and fire are a great place to hang out, grill and unwind. The stream running through the property is icing on the cake. This is a place worth the trip. Most of our group are very connected to their work through their smartphones, and the fact that there is no service was a three day blessing for them, and allowed them to really disconnect and relax. Visit you will not be disappointed.
