Peaceful is the best word to describe our stay at Riverfront Fishing Cottage. The porch, fireplace and sound of running water flowing across the rocks below, what more can you ask for. I had a hard time pulling myself away to visit the Dupont State Forest, which I’m so glad I did, the park is beautiful. Be prepared for walking a lot of walking, but it’s worth it. The cottage décor is perfect down to the silverware, and the bathroom, I have to say I never would have expected the detail, very nice. The directions are spot on, no wrong turns, and the location is perfect, solitude yet close to the attractions. Would I return, absolutely, Thank you!

This is a wonderful place to stay in the area near Brevard. Much thought and attention to detail is evident when you step inside the cottage, which is tastefully decorated and has a nicely applianced kitchen. The fishing theme is reflected throughout the home, but in a lovely upscale way, not at all cute, country or kitschy. The décor is stylish and comfortable; and the bathroom is what you would expect in a high-end home, not a weekend rental. The weather was beautiful during our stay and we practically lived on the deck and the screened porch...both great places for morning coffee and afternoon wine. The river is just across the road from the cottage and its sound was sweet music on the decks and porch. The road was closer than it appeared from the photos, but was not a problem as the traffic was minimal. There were many nice pools and riffles in the stream, but unfortunately the fish were too smart for us in August. Brevard is a short drive away and has good markets and restaurants. Jim and his wife are charming and quite helpful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends. This cottage is perfect for the more selective traveler.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the cottage immensely. It is a quiet and secluded place to relax, yet conveniently located within easy reach of Brevard, Hendersonville, Asheville, and Greenville, SC. The cottage is well appointed and comfortable. It is also perfectly located for fly fishermen (and women) and whether you fish or not, the river provides a relaxing presence at all times. We look forward to staying here again in the future.

Our family has just enjoyed a wonderful weekend at the Riverfront Cottage. Our children enjoyed fishing on the stream in front of the cabin. At night the sound of the river was wonderful as we relaxed on the screened porch and as we slept. We went on a tube ride down the French Broad River and enjoyed wonderful hotdogs and sundaes at Rocky's in Brevard. We had a fun trip to Pisgah forest, although it was a bit crowded on Saturday. All of these activities were wonderful, but we were always anxious to return to the serenity of the Riverfront Cottage.

We loved the fishing cabin (even though we didn't catch any fish in the East Fork!) It was charming, relaxing, completely lovely. We especially loved the screened-in porch. We definitely plan to return!

My three adult children and I thoroughly enjoyed staying in the Riverfront Cottage. The babbling brook across the street was beautiful to see and hear as we were relaxing on one of the three decks for coffee, lunch or just reading. We spent most of our time chasing waterfalls in the Mt Pisgah Forest close to Brevard and also in Rosman. We also spent time on the Blue Ridge Parkway enjoying the breathtaking views of the mountains. What a way to get out of the summer heat of Georgia, as it was at least 10 to 15 degrees cooler in the mountains.

Thank you Jim, this was THE most relaxing vacation I have ever had. Wonderfuly appointed home, great location and the trout were practically jumping out of the river! Great restaurant suggestions and things to do. We will be back and hopefully soon! We won't soon forget the sitting for hours in the screened porch listening to the river! Thanks again!

I have been to brevard several times and stayed at very nice bed&breakfasts in town. They were very nice and yet the trout house still blew them away. It is very up to date and stylish with plenty of room. Everything was clean and we were surprised how nice the dishes/silverware was. It was like a home away from home. The house is close to a road but traffic is very seldom and it makes easy access for excursions. The east fork river is on the other side of the road (50ft from house) and the sound is relaxing and the fish were plentiful. Great time & bargain.
